The Granary - self-catering cottage

Sleeps 2+1

The Granary cottage.

In the grounds of Wren House is an idyllic Seventeeth Century Grade II listed Cotswold stone cottage - an old Granary - stunningly converted into a surprisingly spacious one bedroom cottage.  Delightfully classic in style, the cottage sits on its own divided from the main house by a tall hedge giving both properties an element of privacy. The south-facing sitting room has far-reaching views across open fields and a quiet lane, and is equipped with a TV with video, DVD, CD and iPOD dock. Kiloran has undertaken extensive renovation of the interior to provide a modern kitchen equipped with ceramic hob, double oven, fridge freezer, washer dryer, microwave and full-sized dishwasher. There is also a brand new bathroom with bath and a separate powerful shower, all elegantly finished with travetine tiles and underfloor heating. The large double bedroom - which can also have a twin arrangement - has a dual aspect and extensive cupboard space. A travel cot and high chair are provided and there is a camp bed suitable for a child. It is decorated in fresh, but subtle and relaxed colours and is elegant, yet comfortable. The cottage has been described as a Cotswold "tardis" - small on the outside, but spacious and light on the inside. The brand new heating and hot water system make it gorgeously snug.

The cottage also benefits from its own enclosed very sunny patio garden made up of a series of terraces with some lovely plants and scented climbers.  There is a separate BBQ area, and the french windows of the sitting room open onto a split level sitting area with table and chairs for alfresco dining, with outside lighting and long chairs to sleep off that delicious summer afternoon glass of wine!

There is ample off-road parking for two cars.
